Kansas is home to a small but active Indian community.

According to the 2010 Census, there are 11,646 Asian-Indians in Kansas (that numbers does not include the illegal desi residents whose numbers are growing across the U.S.)

Desis from South Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka and North Indians from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab, Delhi have all settled in Kansas.

Indians are to be found in the cities of Overland Park, Kansas City, Wichita, Lenexa, Topeka and Shawnee in Kansas.

Like their counterparts elsewhere, Indians in Kansas work as IT Programmers, Business Analysts, QA Testing, DB Administrators, Immigration Attorneys, Personal Injury Lawyers, Doctors, Dentists, Motel and Restaurant staff and in other retail businesses.

Several Indian students are pursuing courses at University of Kansas.
